- Health Hazards from WiFi -
This is our current project. A novel group of symptoms has emerged in children attending Simcoe County District Schools since the Board installed microwave Wifi transmitters throughout the schools.
The symptoms are consistent with microwave exposure, which is how the Board's WiFi system transmits. It is possible that more children in Simcoe County are affected. The Safe School Committee wants to know if your child has been experiencing any of these symptoms over the past year.
There are No studies showing microwave exposure is safe for children.
Wi-Fi is a microwave transmitter that is used to connect to the internet without wires. It is convenient but not necessary. It comes with a long list of potential health risks. The Safe School Committee has a policy against WiFi in schools. We recommend safely connecting to the internet with hard-wires. This is safer, faster and more secure. This is how computers connected before the WiFi was installed and the wires are still there. The WiFi systems is largely redundant and unnecessary. So far there has been no scientific study concluding that long term exposure to microwaves is safe for children. Since December 2009 members of the Committee have been informing Superintendents and Trustees of the Simcoe County District School Board of the symptoms that can occur in students when they enter a school with WiFi microwave transmitters.
Children in Simcoe County are now exposed to microwave radiation for 6 hours per day, starting in Junior Kindergarten.
YOUR RIGHT TO KNOW
WiFi is potentially harmful, especially to children. The Safe School Committee believes all parents have a right to know when their children are being exposed to dangerous elements inside their school. Microwave exposure is associated with infertility, neurological disorders, Leukemia and Cancer, especially in children.
Your Right to Know is especially true when Safe Alternatives exist, and in this case, are already in place - ie. hardwire internet connections. So far the Committee has documented reports from children with such strange problems as they can't hold a pencil, they feel faint, they have chronic headaches, and they have developed an erratic heart rate requiring medical attention.
